Bio

Vernon Mortensen is an award-winning filmmaker with over two decades in the entertainment business. His career as a screenwriter and filmmaker includes the Oscar nominated anthology film, "Tell it like a Woman." and over a dozen other movies and scripted TV episodes.

Over the years, Vernon has worked with some of Hollywood's biggest stars. including Oscar winners Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) and Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River), screen  legends like Martin Sheen (NBC's The West Wing), Michael Madsen (Kill Bill 1&2), Oscar nominated John Savage,  as well as supermodel/actress Cara Delevingne (DC's Suicide Squad).

Vernon's behind the camera collaborators include Oscar winning director and TV writer Robert David Port (CBS' Numb3rs, Twin Towers), celebrated studio and indie director, Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight. The Lords of Dogtown), and the amazingly talented Taraji P.Henson (Hidden Figures, Fox's Empire), in her first turn as a film director.

Vernon lives and works in Los Angeles, California, where he is writing his first novel. and continues to make movies and television.
